Addressing Grief During the Covid-19 Pandemic

The Covid-19 Pandemic has completely disrupted life as we knew it and brought with it many challenges. Many people are struggling with the loss of social connection and isolation, job loss, financial insecurity and many are grieving the life they used to have. The pandemic has also resulted in a tremendous loss of life, and many are grieving those losses on top of everything else.

Are you prepared to support these clients as they enter your office for help? What are some uncertainties that arise when supporting a client who’s grieving? It can be challenging to feel confident when approaching a fragile client after they’ve experienced a loss especially since when we as professional helpers are dealing with our own grief and uncertainty with the ongoing pandemic.

In this training, you will learn how to identify the different types of grief and recognize how they manifest. Key aspects of grief models will be explored, including the models constructs and techniques. Attendees will learn about current therapeutic approaches for conceptualizing grief and interventions to confidently support clients who are learning to live with grief. You will leave this workshop prepared to support those clients who enter your office suffering from grief and loss.
