Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional 2-Day Training
Anxiety and obsessive-compulsive & related disorders are among the most prevalent of all classes of psychiatric conditions among adults and children in the United States. Due to a limited availability of providers who are adequately trained to administer evidenced-based treatments for this population, many patients continue to suffer and do not receive access to high-quality services. As such, the need for qualified treatment providers is critical given the prevalence of these disorders and lack of qualified clinicians.
This course is designed to provide attendees with an in-depth comprehensive training regarding the nature of the anxiety and obsessive-compulsive & related disorders and instruction on administrating evidenced-based cognitive-behavioral interventions. This is an intensive training course in cognitive-behavioral therapy including exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) that will take place over the course of two days in order to meet certification standards (see below).

Andrea G. Batton, LCPC
Currently, Andrea Batton is the Clinical Director of The Maryland Anxiety Center specializing in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders. After finishing her graduate and post graduate work at Johns Hopkins University Ms. Batton completed over two years of advanced training as a post-graduate fellow at The Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington and graduated from the Behavior Therapy Training Institute of the International OCD Foundation (an intensive training program for the treatment of OCD) in 2008. She later worked as a clinical associate at CBT Solutions of Baltimore and founded The Maryland Anxiety Center in 2015. Ms. Batton serves on the Board of OCD MidAtlantic, an official affiliate of the International OCD Foundation serving all of Maryland, DC and Virginia and continues to provide professional education on the treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders.
John Donahue, PsyD
John Donahue, Psy.D., is assistant professor of psychology in the Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Baltimore and a clinical associate at The Maryland Anxiety Center. He received a doctorate in clinical psychology from La Salle University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the NW Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center at the Portland VA Medical Center, where he specialized in posttraumatic stress disorder treatment and research. Dr. Donahue’s clinical and research interests broadly relate to the role of psychological flexibility across psychological disorders and mechanisms of change in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies.
Timothy DiGiacomo, PsyD
Timothy DiGiacomo, Psy.D. is the Clinical Director for Mountain Valley Treatment Center, a short-term residential program for adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety and OCD. Tim is a licensed psychologist and Clinical and Adjunct faculty for the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He has also taught for New England College and Franklin Pierce University and served as a consultant for several schools. Tim regularly presents at national conferences on anxiety and OCD including at ADAA and IOCDF. Tim is a graduate of the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology and completed his internship and fellowship at Dartmouth Medical School
